Scott Brownrigg has turned the Thornton Education Trust's challenge into a measurable commitment, setting a target to engage 1,490 young people this financial year.

The challenge was launched by the Thornton Education Trust (TET) at the Inspire Future Generations 2025 Awards, asking built environment professionals to commit just one hour of engagement with 10 young people each year.

The ambition is simple: if every built environment professional engaged with 10 young people for one hour a year, more than half a million young people could be reached every year.

Scott Brownrigg has taken up the challenge by making engagement with young people a KPI. With 149 technical staff, the practice set itself a target of reaching 1,490 students during the financial year. Halfway through the year, Scott Brownrigg has already engaged with 986 students – 66% of its annual target.

At TET, we believe young people should have the opportunity to understand the places they live, learn and grow in. We're dedicated to helping them recognise that they can have a say in the decisions that shape the world around them. By connecting young people with the built environment, professionals can help develop creativity, confidence and a sense of ownership over the world around them.

The campaign is part of TET's wider commitment to inspiring future generations and encouraging meaningful engagement between young people and the built environment.
